Work with me!
What I Offer
I am a qualitative social scientist with over a decade of experience in healthcare research. After working for two years in public health prevention and then two years as a pharmaceutical market research analyst, I now work as a moderator and consultant on select projects alongside my role as a college professor.
As a trained medical anthropologist, I connect cultural insights to human behavior in healthcare. I bring my knowledge of diverse healthcare systems to interview and focus group moderation, respectfully engaging diverse participant groups while remaining focused on obtaining actionable insights for clients. I have interviewed both patients, caregivers, and doctors cross a range of therapeutic areas in the U.S., Europe, and other global markets. I have experience working on a variety of topics, including:
dermatology (eczema, psoriasis, and dermatological training)
women’s health & sexual/reproductive health (contraception, abortion, breast cancer, PrEP)
autoimmune disorders (rheumatoid and psoriatic arthritis)
mental health (schizophrenia, mental health in women)
endocrinology (diabetes, including wearable glucose monitors, and GLP-1 medications)
public health (COVID-19, infectious disease contact tracing, community health education)
telemedicine (including experiences of doctors and patients)
social media (including how social media impacts health information and behaviors)
I also have background and experience working with specific populations, including women and LGBTQ people, patients of color, people with cognitive impairments, and people experiencing homelessness. My training in anthropology and gender studies provides a background on cross-cultural communication and strategies for interviewing people about taboo and sensitive topics.
-
Virtual video, audio, or in-person interviews with individuals to obtain insight into their experiences and the hidden beliefs that drive behaviors.
-
Expert report on what is already known about a topic - so you don’t re-invent the wheel!
-
My job as a researcher is to take large amounts of data and condense it into clear, concise findings that can inform your organization’s decisions going forward. I use QDA software such as Atlas.TI to identify patterns and themes. All analysis is conducted by me, informed by my expert training in health research - not AI!
-
Research findings can be presented in a variety of ways to communicate with different audiences and for distinct goals. I am known for creating concise, clear reports across mediums (from full written reports to one-pagers to visual infographics or slide decks) that make actionable insights clear, so you know what to do next!
